LA 'SUNSET JAM!': Unidos por la música.
(ESPAÑOL) Una vez finalizado el día, el mercadillo y con el sol cayendo en el horizonte, es la hora de ir a la zona de la piscina y unirnos y disfrutar de LA 'SUNSET JAM' que se celebrará cada semana.

Las Jam Sessions son reuniones de músicos y artistas en general que tocan para el público siguiendo unas normas más o menos preestablecidas, pero donde prima la improvisación.
Además, nuestras jams son completamente abiertas para que participe gente de cualquier nivel, es más, animamos a todo artista a que acuda a participar y así enriquecer el espectáculo.
Tocar en una Jam Session puede ser algo increíblemente divertido, así como un gran desafío para los más noveles e inexpertos. Todo depende de como uno se comporte y lo preparado que se esté para este tipo de situaciones. También suelen ser un ámbito en donde uno se encuentra con todo tipo de músicos y diversas situaciones que derivan en experiencias increíbles.
Nos gustaría compartir algunos tips para disfrutar y sobrevivir a las Jam Sessions.
1- Repertorio: una de las cosas mas importantes para poder participar es saber canciones/ standards. No es necesario saber una gran lista siendo principiante pero mientras mas temas sepas, mejor. Para comenzar con un repertorio siempre son bienvenidos los Blues Mayores o Menores y standard clásicos.
2- En los diferentes combos que se arman para tocar hay una gran porcentaje de posibilidades de que no sepas el tema que todos quieren tocar, por eso es indispensable que puedas leer para poder seguir participando.
3- Usualmente los cantantes con un poco de experiencia saben que en caso de no interpretar los temas en su tonalidad original, deben llevar las partituras de las canciones que vayan a cantar. También es usual que no las lleven y al subir al escenario, canten un standard y los músicos del combo deban transponer en tiempo real a la tonalidad que el vocalista desee.
4- La mayor parte de las veces los músicos suben a tocar para demostrar que pueden tocar, generando así una lucha interminable de egos. Cuando uno ocupa su verdadero lugar, pasa lo que debiese pasar siempre, se hace música. Al dejar de lado la competencia, la diversión es mayor y ocupar tu lugar no significa que no toques lo que quieras tocar, si no que lo toques cuando corresponde, cuando la situación lo permite y cuando no estás molestando al resto.
5- Ser versátil es sumamente útil si te convocan para abrir y ser anfitrión de una jam, e incluye poder tocar en varias tonalidad, varios estilos y ritmos (swing, funk, etc…), poder leer a primera vista, que sepas repertorio, que puedas escuchar lo que esta pasando y puedas reaccionar rápido ante estímulos musicales, entre otros detalles más.
6- No hay mejor ejercicio para el estudio del género que poder poner en práctica todo lo que a diario se estudia y con músicos de verdad. Es decir, las apps, metrónomo y otros dispositivos que se usan a diario, nunca serán tan importantes y reales como tocar con músicos y reaccionar a lo que está sonando.
7- Compartir nos hace mejor persona y por ende, mejor musico/artista. Muchos se niegan a tocar con quienes “no están en su nivel” pero siempre se puede aprender, aún de alguien que está comenzando a dar sus primeros pasos. De eso se trata compartir.
8- Ser respetuoso y comportarse de manera adecuada, no menospreciar ni criticar a las personas que suben a tocar, tratar de ayudar a quien lo necesite, no creerse mejor que nadie, son algunas de las cualidad que siempre debieran abundar en una situación musical como una Jam (entre otras!). Aunque parezca ridículo decirlo, siempre hace falta recordar que siendo respetuoso se hace música de mejor manera.
9- Estar preparado, ademas de los aspectos netamente musicales, las jams son lugares en donde se conoce gente del ambiente musical como músicos, productores, artistas y gente en general que pueda llegar a estar interesado en uno, por eso es importante siempre tener a mano tarjetas personales, discos, o cualquier material de prensa que nos represente para poder brindar en caso que alguien nos pregunte y quiera a posterior contactarnos.
Ahora no hay excusas para no asistir y tocar en LA SUNSET JAM! UNIDOS POR LA MÚSICA.

Jam Sessions are gatherings of musicians and artists in general who play for the public following more or less pre-established rules, but where improvisation prevails.
In addition, our jams are completely open for people of any level to participate, what's more, we encourage all artists to come and participate and thus enrich the show.
Playing a Jam Session can be incredibly fun, as well as challenging for the novice and inexperienced. It all depends on how you behave and how prepared you are for these types of situations. They are also usually an area where one meets all kinds of musicians and various situations that lead to incredible experiences.
We would like to share some tips to enjoy and survive the Jam Sessions:
1- Repertoire: one of the most important things to be able to participate is to know songs. It is not necessary to know a large list as a beginner but the more topics you know, better. To start with a repertoire, Major or Minor Blues and standard classics are always welcome.
2- In the different combos that are put together to play there is a large percentage of possibilities that you do not know the subject that everyone wants to touch, that is why it is essential that you be able to read in order to continue participating.
3- Usually singers with a little experience know that if they do not interpret the songs in their original tonality, they must bring the scores of the songs they are going to sing. It is also usual that they do not wear them and when they go on stage, they sing a standard and the musicians of the combo must transpose in real time to the key that the vocalist wishes.
4- Most of the time the musicians go up to play to show that they can play, thus generating an endless struggle of egos. When you occupy your true place, what should always happen happens, you make music. By leaving the competition aside, the fun is greater and taking your place does not mean that you do not touch what you want to touch, but that you touch it when it corresponds, when the situation allows it and when you are not disturbing others.
5- Being versatile is extremely useful if you are summoned to open and host a jam, and includes being able to play in various keys, various styles and rhythms (swing, funk, etc ...), being able to read at a glance, knowing the repertoire, that you can hear what is happening and you can react quickly to musical stimuli, among other details.
6- There is no better exercise for the study of the genre than to be able to put into practice everything that is studied daily and with real musicians. In other words, the apps, metronome and other devices that are used daily, will never be as important and real as playing with musicians and reacting to what is playing.
7- Sharing makes us a better person and therefore, a better musician / artist. Many refuse to play with those "not on their level" but you can always learn, even from someone who is just beginning to take their first steps. That's what sharing is all about.
8- Being respectful and behaving appropriately, not belittling or criticizing the people who come up to play, trying to help those who need it, not believing oneself better than anyone, are some of the qualities that should always abound in a musical situation such as a Jam (among others!). Although it seems ridiculous to say it, it is always necessary to remember that being respectful makes music in a better way.
9- Be prepared, in addition to the purely musical aspects, jams are places where you meet people from the musical environment such as musicians, producers, artists and people in general who may become interested in you, that is why it is important to always have a hand personal cards, discs, or any press material that represents us to be able to provide in case someone asks us and wants to contact us later.
